With the popularization and development of Virtual Reality and computertechnology, the society has entered the digital age. Digital technology is rapidlychanging the society. People who live in the society have more and more digitalfeatures in their life and work. With the proposed of "Digital Earth" and the globaldigital wave, different industries have started to build their digital platforms.In this paper, taking China University of Mining and Technology campus asstudying area, by combining virtual reality software Unity3D and low altitudephotogrammetry technology to build three-dimensional virtual digital campus system,using algorithms programing to implement related functions, and then exploring thekey technology. Thesis contribution:(1) Based on low altitude photogrammetrytechnology to obtain three-dimensional visualization data of campus, achievelow-altitude remote sensing data of multi-purpose, then explain the low altitude imageprocessing key technology, image matching, bundle block adjustment, Orthographiccorrection,3D product production.(2) Completed the building of all kinds of terrainmodel in the area of campus, comprehensive analysis of the various features of3Dmodeling and texture mapping technology, and giving corresponding solution to theproblems encountered in the process of modeling, and realized terrain scenevisualization in Unity3D.(3) Completed the development of3D virtual digital campusroaming system using platform of Unity3D, realized the multi-angle roaming,celestial environment as well as the effect of water simulation environment, andachieved interaction function vary from query analysis to measurement, make visitorin housebound cases can experience campus environment personally.(4) Under notaffect the premise of virtual scene rendering picture quality condition, vary fromcreating3D simplified model, model optimization, the level of detail, view frustumaspects to study the optimization method of reducing complex3D scene complexity.This paper summarizes the construction of3D virtual scene of the keytechnologies, provides a natural and realistic3D virtual environment, and researchresult have certain theoretical and practical significance for the three-dimensionalvirtual display relevant areas, planning and design.
