The development of society economy depends on the transportation improvement .The latter is important to the circulation of goods. There has been much study on the successful Jin Merchants, but few people pay attention to the channel of distribution of commodities of Shanxi in the Qing Dynasty. So the article will extract and outline the commercial transportation net of Shanxi through documents of different places in this area and history materials. Its study angle is the relationship of transportation and commerce, and the aim is to inquire to the development of Jin Merchants.First of all, the article describes the land transportation of Shanxi in the Qing Dynasty including a few the land transportation of Shanxi in the Qing Dynasty such as Beijing—West governmental Roads, West Roads, South Roads, East Roads;vital non-governmental Roads including Shanxi part from Suiyuan to Beijing and Shanxi part from Shaanxi-Gansu to Beijing, Fling-Fox Road and the Road from Zuoyun to Youyu county;the Salt Road and Tea-Horse Road of Shanxi. It also describes the thansportation by water covering the Yellow River and the Fen River in that period. A few prosperous commercial towns in Shanxi and Mongolia are expanded in detail such as Baotou, Guihua, Xunzhen, Baode, Qikou, Hejin . Secondly, the close relationship of transportation and commerce is explained. The unobstructed transportation net benefited to the far distance circulating ofgoods which Jin Merchants and other merchants were engaged in, and promoted the commerce economy to develop rapidly , many commercial towns emerged. In order to meet the need of transportation and exchanging of goods, along the route of each land and water road, the new towns boomed and the former ones made greater improvement. Finally, the trade between Shanxi and the provinces around it, Hebei, Shaanxi and Henan and so on in the Qing Dynasty is fully detailed. The convenient transportation made the products of Agriculture and Industry were distributed in time, which can help the realization of transformation from products to commodities resulting in the development of Agriculture and Industry of the places. It can also enhance the relating of Shanxi and the provinces around it and strengthen the communicating of regional economy. In sum, the paper tells the importance of transportation of Shanxi in the Qing Dynasty to the growth of the area economy and Jin Merchants' expanding benefited from the critical location and flouring transportation conditions.
