| On the basis of theoretical research of ecological-economic theory and coupling systemic theory, the paper begin with the internal links among subsystems, using several methods such as literature, investigation and so on to collect the actual data about urban and rural ecological and economic systems during 1995-2005 years of Qian Xi' nan region. After that, the paper analyses the situation of space-time coupling by such methods as follow: hierarchy process, systemic analysis, modeling and so on. The results and conclusions were showed as follows:(1) The foundation of urban-rural ecological-economic multiplex system in Karst areas is rural ecological-economical system. In the rural ecology-economical system, the active function of population gets strength gradually, and it becomes the leading factor to impel the development of rural ecosystem; the rural economy is the base of the urban-rural ecology economy, it has been contributed much more than the urban economy before 2004 to the urban-rural multiplexed system.(2) Urban-rural ecological-economic system in Karst areas was driven by urban ecological-economic systems.
