Study Of Implementation Of Enterprise Information Management System Under ERP Theory

Accompanying with China entering the World Trade Organization (WTO), many foreignenterprises landed China. It gave big impact to China's native enterprise. Also it made Chinagovernment and Chinese entrepremeurs deeply realized that there is a big gap on the aspect ofmanagement skill between foreign company and Chinese native company. At the special time,Enterprise Resource Planing (ERP), representing the most advanced enterprise managementtheory in the world and containing lots of success experiences from many world-wide companies,became an effective tool of improving business process, enhancing government level, andstrengthening enterprise competition power. ERP was founded in 1970s in the world, but it has been about 10 years only since it existed inChina market. But in such a short period, ERP achieved big progresses. On the one hand, becauseof the high profit increasing, many software supplier and IT service supplier turned into thisbusiness area. On the other hand, many enterprises' successful implementation gave a goodexample to others, and made other enterprises willing to invest on ERP adoption. In this paper, ERP's evolution history in the world and in the China was first introduced, thenthe concepts implied in ERP and the differences of ERP with MRP/MRPII were studied. Themanagement idea that ERP contains and ERP's technical characteristics were also studied. Thesoftware engineering background of ERP systems were discussed and the design idea of ERPsystems in software engineering background was obtained. Based on the above studies, the paperintroduced the design and implementation work of the author when participated in China MobileCommunication Corporation's Oracle ERP project. Especially the author was in charge of thewhole course of financial modules' implementation. Includings: the implementation of financialmodules in Oracle ERP system, the requirement analysis for enterprise's financial system function,and the detail design of implementation solution for each Oracle ERP system's financial modules. Depending on the experience got from above work, the author of this article summarized aset of ERP system's implementation methodology which can apply to China's native enterprises.Including the method of ERP concept's training in the beginning of the project, systemrequirement analysis, and many other methods in the different stages in the whole project.
