Study On Outsourcing Decision For Enterprise Logistics

Since the concept of "modern logistics" was introduced to China, from then on the whole logistics industry has made great headway, and best practice of logistics has become one of the most exciting and challenging operational areas of business and public sector management. So, the conception of logistics be paid attention more and more and be studied in theory and practice. With the increasing deepen research;companies realized that, the TPL providers, specializing in logistics, develop to achieve lower operational costs. Outsourcing all or parts of the logistical business to professional TPL companies results in economies of scale and expertise.But because of the unclear understanding about logistics outsourcing, or the lack of correlative experiences cooperating with TPL, the logistics outsourcing process is hard to be carried out successfully. By researching lots of examples in TPL selecting area, we can find that the partner selecting of logistics outsourcing is very important to the whole successful course.To begin with, this paper introduces the basic definitions involved in logistics outsourcing, as well as its advantages and potential risks. Then the paper researches the status of logistics outsourcing home and abroad, and points out the existing problems in this area.Secondly, some models about logistics outsourcing including its standards are described and analyzed, and then the approach is presented.At last, this paper presents a model based on AHP for the selection of outsourcing partners. Meanwhile the criteria for selection in this model are also given.On the whole, this paper discusses the decision-making and partner selection involved in logistics outsourcing, presents some decision-making approaches, proposes a model for the partner selection. It provides the enterprise with outsourcing decision-making approaches, which can reduce the logistics costs and promote logistics service level.
