Study On Scale Effect Of China's Urban Land Use

Improving efficiency of urban land-use is an important issue in the process of china's urbanization. And the important factor of the issue is the scale of urban. The paper will firstly sketch out the present condition of scale effect of urban land-use;secondly, make an empirical study on scale effect of urban land-use with data of domestic urban land-use and data of measured output from 1990's till now. the author offers views that because of agglomeration economy effect, huge scale economic effect follows urban expansion and agglomeration economy effect when in a small or limited urban scale, but diseconomies of scale follows when in a huge or out-limited urban scale;and the total scale was related with land input influenced by land system and macroeconomics policy of land, the author found in empirical study that significant scale economic effect are of measured output of china's urban land-use, and scale diseconomies are appeared in some super city after 1996;and before 1998, no scale economic effect in eastern china's urban but conversely in western's, but after 1998, the scale economic effect of measured output are decreased slowly in middle-eastern urban but increased in eastern china.
