Along with technology development, globalenvironment protection consciousness has become more popular. With such background,Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) is becoming one of the important tools and advanced formsin place of tariff and quotas to protect domestic textile and clothing industry.The paper firstly reviews the theoretical development of trade protection theory and theevolvement of TBT, expounds why TBT is more and more popular, and analyses short-termand long-term economic effect of TBT by theoretical analysis. Secondly,by collecting datafrom many countries' custom websites and textile industry professional websites as well aslots of literatures, the paper summarizes America,EU and Japan TBT of textile and clothingindustry. Then the following section gives the reasons why there is such TBT on China'sexport in textiles and clothing based on the export status and influence of TBT on China.Finally, from governmental, industrial and enterprise aspects, this paper gives advice forChina's textile and clothing export coping with TBT.
