Research On Claim Management Of Contractors Under FIDIC Conditions Of Contract

Project claim management, which embodies the management level of contractors,is closely related to economic benefits. Contracts are the legal base of project claimsand the most popular contract in international project is FIDIC contract. So theresearch on how to improve the claim ability of contractors by constructing claimmanagement system under FIDIC contract terms is meaningful in theory and practice.On the side of contractors this paper firstly introduces the characteristic of FIDICcontract (Conditions of Contract for Works of Civil Engineering Construction, i.e.New Red Book), the terms related to claims in it and the factors of claim system.Then on the basis of the above theory analysis it emphasizes on how to improve theclaim management of contractors under FIDIC contract terms through the timemanagement, organization management, risk management and informationmanagement of claims. Moreover, the writer uses cases to analyze problems of claimprocedure and claim opportunities existing in claims of contractors.
