Nowadays, the gentle economic globalization is an irreversible trend of economic development of the world , the different countries in the world are incorporating it in the tide globalized day by day. Set up China - ASEAN Free Trade Area is a strategic choice made to comply with the economic globalization and trend of integration of regional economics.This thesis has summed up the current situation of China-ASEAN cooperation in economy and trade, analyzed the characteristics, introduced the theoretical foundation of setting up the free trade area, and fully proved the necessities and possibilities of China-ASEAN cooperation in economy and trade in terms of economy and politics. It has emphatically analyzed and explained the prospect of China-ASEAN cooperation in economy and trade , the obstacles and the countermeasures as well.The thesis shows : The setting-up of the China-ASEAN Economic Free Trade Area has started China--- the new page of cooperation in economy and trade of Association of South-east Asian Nations, bring the new opportunity for both sides' economic and trade development. But there will still be some obstacles that we have to face with during the construction process of the China-ASEAN Economic Free Trade Area. In the last part of this thesis, some benefit suggestions have been offered in how to accelerate the economic trade development of China and Association of South-east Asian Nations.The full text divides into four chapters altogether: Chapter one summed up the current situations and characteristics of China and cooperation in economy and tradeof Association of South-east Asian Nations at first. Chapter four described the prospect of China-ASEAN cooperation in economy and trade , obstacles be faced and put forward the corresponding countermeasures emphatically on the basis of the fore three chapters.
