BPR (Business Process Reengineering) brought up a deeply revolution in enterprise management, but its higher failing rate blocked many enterprises. So there is great meaning to introduce risk management into BPR. Based on the research results of former theorists, this paper. On the foundation of introducing BPR's developing background and theory foundations. It focuses on the risk origins of BPR, Its risk evaluation , risk prevention and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to our enterprises.This article firstly begins from describing the thoughts and opinions from 1960s to 1990s. about business process reengineering(BPR) and risk. From the major contradiction between inside and outside environment as well as major characteristics of knowledge economic era, describe the concept, principle, content and process of BPR.Then, On the foundation of analyzing some domestic and foreign enterprise's example of BPR all over the world, this article puts forward the concept of the risk of BPR, and explore the inside and outside origins of BPR. Its outside origins include the technology immature of BPR, the process complexity of BPR> the marketing of BPR is nor perfect and the differences of Chinese and Western corporate culture. Its inside origins include confusion in idea and practice of BPR, and management risk of BPR.Third, this article divides BPR's risk into systematic risk and non-systematic risk. Systematic risks are classified as policy and law risk, finance risk, market risk. Non- systematic risks are classified as technique risk, investment risk and management risk. Then sets forth the risk evaluation system as well as the guard risk method and the model, and established the whole-process risk prevention system of BPR. Set off effective measures in risk prevention and risk handling, and offers scientific suggestions to optimize our country's companies.Finally, with the risk prevention analysis in the Business Process Reengineering project of Lin Chuan company, the article analyze the problems which should be take in to by our enterprises and brings forward a the correction of the risk evaluation system and index of the risk evaluation is proved.
