As the global compititions heat up, enterprises are under increasing pressures from the market. According to the protocols signed upon China' s admission to the World Trade Organization, the industry of international cargo transport agency (agency not sure) belongs to service industries to be opened to foreign investment. With the 2008 deadline pending, how the domestic agency companies are going to survive and grow is a serious question they are facing now. Based on Minsheng Cargo Agency, this article discusses how smaller cargo companies find the best way to develop in the future market.With theThe first part will draw a general picture of the industry. The international cargo shipping agency is an knowledge-intensive industry involving import-export, storage, commodity inspection , insurangce, and international settlement. The service chain concerns a great number of organizations and procedures. So far, China has about 1,000 international cargo agencies enjoying the first level qualification granted by the Ministry of Commerce. The second part introduces Minsheng Cargo Agency. Founded in 1992, the company is a first-level agency in international cargo shipping and a member of ChinaInternational Cargo Agency Association. With 13 branch companies, Minsheng specializes in international cargo shipping agency services,including storage, transfer, door-to-door shipping, order, ...........Building strong ties with a number of domestic and overseas shipping companies, its business covers North Amreica, South America, Eurape, Africa and Japan and other Southeast Asian countries.The third part analyses the cargo industry in China with the Micheal B' s model, and Minsheng with SWOT. Based on the analysis result, the article propose that Minsheng embark on a route with differentiated development, which is realized by raising its competitiveness in all services. This part also includes the results of the survey on Minsheng' s service quality and consumer satisfaction.Based on the analyses of part three, the fourth part put forward seven strategies to promote Minsheng' s competitiveness in services in a all-around way, so as to enhance the company' s core competing edge.The fifth part reemphasize the abo e-mentioned strategies in conclusion Based on the analysis of the cargo shipping agency industry and the case in Minsheng, the article aims to provide some useful tips to the domestic cargo industry by proposing praticable strategies for the development of Minsheng Cargo Shipping Agency.
