| In order to handle the competition of some new wireless broad band technology like WiMAX and enhance and improve the competitive of existing 3G technology, 3GPP proposals Long term Evolution at the end of 2004——3G LTE.LTE is an improved project about UTRA and UTRAN, which is a evolution about core network in the whole network technology. It adopts such a lot of advanced communication technology as OFDM, MIMO, flat network architecture, air interface simplicity. Among this, multi-antenna technology can use the space source fully, increase the effective bandwidth of the wireless channel, and improve the capacity of the communication system vastly, so it is the key technology of 3GPP LTE specification. LTE system can provide the peak rate of 100Mbps downlink and 50Mbps uplink under the configuration for 20MHz bandwidth. It improves the performance of cell border user and cell capacity a lot, and decreases the delay of the system.This thesis design and set up a quasistatic LTE downlink system level simulation platform combined MATLAB based on 3GPP specification. It finishes the confirmation of the system simulation completely structure, and the module construction such as wireless channel, CQI measurement and feedback, MAC layer, system debugging, and collecting and analyzing the data resulted by the simulation. The paper simulated and validated the network performance of LTE downlink system configured with 2x2 and 4x2 antennas, and simulated its network performance under the configuration with of 8*2 antennas based on this condition. The result indicates that the network performance such as frequency spectrum, throughout, and cell border throughout all satisfy the requirements specified by 3GPP specification by different antennas configuration and polarization conditions when the system bandwidth is 20MHz. Furthermore, with the increased in the number of the base station antennas, the evaluation and test index will be increased in the downlink system, it indicates obviously that the multi-antenna technology can improve the performance of downlink system, this side validation and support the superiority of multi-antenna technology, and it is a very important technology in the LTE system, at the same time, it also verified that the configuration of 8x2 is feasibility in the LTE system. |
