The study about relations between government and media has not sufficient concern in the early mass media era. It's necessity could be aware of, only with the development of modern mass media, especially media such as newspapers, radio, television and networks were flourishing in the 20th century. Therefore, the study on the Interactive relations between U.S. media and government will only focus on American whose media industry is the most developed country. A country like the United States was chosen as a specific test object, mainly because it is the birthplace of the modern media. It's media ecology is more complete. Meanwhile, American as the world's political, economic and cultural center, its relationship between media and the government is the most representative.In Class society, the media is always with the class attribute and with its own social and political structure of the form and color. Any subtle changes in politics could affect the relationship between media and government, the U.S. media and government relations is also true.On Peace time, the U.S. government does not put the power of media censorship, the media is away from the direct control of the government. But government could use various methods on media exert some influence, to regulate and control the news of the quantity, quality, orientation and direction. Rigid regulation, for example, setting a complete system, fully functional media organizations, etc. However, media also has some reaction. It is not always the Implementer of government policies, with their own unique way to participate in political activities of the government. In some special period, such as war times, the attitude of the U.S. government to the media is both love and hate, intervening things directly is often occur.Why the relations between U.S. media and government changes so much, why the changes of the media position so frequently during several hundred years? I have to thinking. Meanwhile, the U.S. media's performance in key events is so powerful that it can affect the U.S. political landscape. Therefore, it is necessary to study the relations between media and government in different historical periods the evolution and mutual restraint with the factors, understand the nature of the relationship between the two. This is the purposes of this article.
