The Design Of Functional Signal Generator Based On ARM

Signal source is the necessary electronic equipment in the process of various tests and scientific experiments. As one of the most important instruments, Functional signal generator is widely used in communication, monitoring, navigation, radar and other fields. DDS is an all-digital frequency synthesis which is proposed in the 1970s. Arbitrary Waveform Generator based on DDS becomes one of the important directions of AWG just because it has many advantages such as high stability output frequency, wide range, phase continuous and high resolution.From the engineering point of view,this paper presents a new design method about functional signal generator system which is based on ARM embedded system and DDS technology by analysing and reserching the present condition and future development of functional signal generator at home and abroad. And then the hardware circuit design,man-machine operation interface design and ARM control system software design are conducted.As the whole system's core design principle,the realize of DDS depends on high-speed and high-performance of digital device.This design chooses ARM9 embedded system which is based on S3C2410 microprocessor and by its internal linux operation system to realize control,human-computer interaction,interface communication and other functions. The system adopts the method of the combination of hardware and software,making full use of versatility,high speed and low power of hareware and flexibility of software.Finally,it proves that the design meet the scheduled requirements by conducting system performance test and error analysis and provides better reference value and practical value for the following products.
