With the development of electronic technology and mature, all aspect of the signal generators’demand is getting higher and higher. The conventional signal generator cannot meet the many needs of practical application, because of it complex structure, low waveform accuracy, poor frequency stability and human-machine interaction(HMI) function is weak, moreover the existing signal generator expensive price on the market. This paper discusses the embedded intelligent signal generator in order to solve the above problems.In the paper, the embedded intelligent signal generator project were summarized, analyzed the current problems of ordinary signal generator. Through the analysis of the background of the project and technical indicators, the overall design schemes are compared. In the order to determine the direct digital (DDS) as the core design train ideas, combined with the embedded technology (ARM and FPGA) use. On the signal generator project overall planning, including the hardware system design, software system design and digital system design, in the each functional module design, via text, graphics, tables and other forms to expounds the functions of each part, principle and implementation method and steps.. Hardware system module inclue HMI interface, DDS waveform generation, analog-to-digital conversion output; software system module include:user input detection, graphical interface display, data processing and transmission; digital system module include:data receiving processing, DDS core processor, waveform output control. Embedded intelligent signal generator project design in electronic design automation (EDA) technology as the means, carried schematic/PCB design, embedded software programming and large scale digital system design. Finally, the steps in the machine debugging, the output parameters were measured, and enumerates the common problems and solutions.This paper designs of embedded intelligent signal generator fully comply with the requirements of the project scheduled to reach the demand for the use of electronic laboratory. There are certain scientific and technological content, good HMI functions; Simple structure, stable and reliable, low cost within price advantage.
