The Evaluation Index And Strategy Of International Development For Chinese Library And Information Science Research

The paper analyzes the international development of Chinese library and information science(LIS) from the late 80s to the present by applying some scientometrics methods as mapping knowledge and word frequency analysis. It analyzes bibliometric indicators for research achievements and subject change, and focuses on analyzing bibliometric indicators and subject about foreign research achievements and Chinese output of LIS research achievements at home and abroad. The results shows that there existing increasingly far-reaching international influence for Chinese LIS research, and some knowledge domain like information retrieval, scientometrics and scientific research evaluation are strength domain facing international development for Chinese LIS research.Based on above investigation, the paper investigates some experts from more than ten university including Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Science and Technology Information Institute, Wuhan university, Nanjing university, Nankai university by applying derived delphi method. These experts have above associate professor title, and their research direction includes scientometrics, scientific research evaluation, books publishing, science and technology policy, information resource management, LIS theory and method,etc. Then, it describes the results of questionnaires survey and does statistical analyses of the data set obtained from survey. The main indexes are experts positive coefficient, arithmetic mean, full score frequency, variation coefficient. At last, it gets seven indexes including results cited by foreign scholars, etc. These indexes provides basis for Chinese LIS development facing international.According to these indexes, based on understanding the implication of LIS international development, the paper systematic analyzes internal strengths, internal weaknesses, external opportunities and external threats for Chinese LIS research by applying SWOT method. Meanwhile, it constructs the LIS research development strategy according to SO program, ST program, WO program, WT program, which provides guarantee for international development.
