The conclusions were as following: (1)On the basis of the requirement analysis, The synchronized and the asynchronous service model were used by DRS, including telephone consultation, web-form, forum and E-mail.(2)The whole procedure of the Forestry Digital Reference System was constructed.The various modules function of the user service and the system management has been realized. The users refer to the consultant and the reader. The reader can register, modify personal information, ask some questions and query. The consultant can answer questions, modify personal information. The Admin manages user and knowledge database.(3)The data of Forestry Digital Reference System is designed, including the user table, the question table, the expert table, the topic table and the reply content table. In which the user table is the most important.(4)The Forestry Digital Reference System has been used in the chinese information website and forestry digital library and forestry reference website.
