Data acquisition is the basic means of information acquisition. As an important branch of information science, data acquisition technology is an integrated application technology which takes sensors, signal measurement and processing, micro-computers and etc. as the basis. How to collect and save high-speed signal timely in order to ensure signal not losing and to meet the need of industry spot is always the important research aspect of high-speed data acquisition system (DAS).This thesis takes TDR based Cable Fault Locator System as the background. On the basis of the TDR waveform analysis and the current high-speed data acquisition system study, this thesis presents the hardware design of the high-speed data acquisition system which consists of Low-speed A/D converter chip, high-performance FPGA, low-power MSP430F149 microcontroller and the software implementation of equivalent sample. This system firstly decodes the keyboard circuit by MSP430F149 MCU to adjust the pulse-width data and to send the system acquisition start signal; and secondly four 25MSPS samplings after 10ns precise step delay are completed by controlling TLC5540 with FPGA, and the collected data are stored in dual-port RAM block temporarily; The data stored in dual-port RAM block lastly are sent to PC through serial port in order to prepare for the treatment in the next step.Taking the research on the relevant data acquisition theories as a point of departure, this thesis pays the main attention to the design of TLC5540,low-power MCU MSP430F149 and EP2C8Q208C8; After the completion of the hardware design at all levels, software components are programmed and stimulated. The results show that the data sampling rate achieves 100MSPS. And this design can meet the system performance requirement of 1 meter measurement accuracy in the case of 200m/us wave velocity. It has a high practical value.
