This thesis combined author's experience of research on real-time image processing and the developing project, comes up with a systemic method about real-time image processing based on ARM 9, and realizes the functions of local and remote supervisory control.Firstly, the thesis analyzes the new development in the fields of video supervisory control system, points out the disadvantages of the current researches and applications and tries to predict the trends of the supervisory control technology in the future. Then, the thesis introduces an embedded real-time image processing system, which is based on ARM and Linux.This thesis analyzes the design of embedded video supervisory control system in two perspectives. On one hand, it elaborates the design of the system, including the hardware system design, the software platform and tools and the relevant knowledge of video and image; on the other hand, the thesis discusses cross-compiling environment, the transplantation process of Linux kernel and the transplantation based on S3C2440. And then the thesis discusses the transplantation of MiniGUI and BOA based on S3C2440. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on the introduction of API interface--Video4Linux, in which methods to acquire video and audio data.Moreover, the thesis summarizes the system and discusses the prospect of the system in the future.Finally, the thesis shows the experiment results of the image acquisition, storage and playback afterwards. And they prove that the design is reasonable and feasible, which can meet the needs of control targets.
