This thesis involves the design and implementation of overall reforming Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system of petroleum pipeline from Tieling city to Dalian city. The system was first introduced from Rexnord Industries, LLC. of the United States in 1986, and was put into operation of controlling station system in November of 1991.Though the system has many advantages, many problems gradually appeared while time elapsing. Hardware, software and operating process have made it inconvenient for production. Based on the above items, the Tieling-Dalian petroleum pipeline is completely upgraded from hardware, software to technology. After getting approval of all the authorities the system has been put into service. But the reformed SCADA software also has some limitations:OASyS software can not dynamically display crude transportation sequence; relative function of report is single; the communication detection is often delayed, etc.Aiming at the above-mentioned problems, this thesis intensively studies interface techniques and further improves the system by independently developing programs making use of VB.NET programming software. For example, (1) crude oil transportation display is added. The PLC data can be read by OPC and variety of other ways; real time data collection and display makes the running easier and convenient. (2) Timely printing of report is improved. Since the report function of OASyS is not suitable for Tieling-Dalian production and based on different needs of safety operation, embedded crystal report is adopted for station controlling ends for implementation of real time collection and printing, and VSTO technology is adopted for multi-function timely report printing for control center. (3) Aiming at the problem of delayed detection of communications on OASyS software, real time monitor of equipment state for station controlling ends is developed. (4) The problem of communication between third-party software and equipments of Tieling-Dalian system is solved. Embedded OASyS fulfills seamless link and thus shows perfect combination.In brief, the reformed system ensures safe, steady and high efficient running of petroleum pipeline system and is highly in accordance with the requirements of petroleum industry production.
