This paper is proposed a new method, the method of applying the Wii remote to normal glass to realize the touch screen ,to solve the problem such as expensive and unstable in industry touch screen.In this paper, the principles of resistive touch screeng,capacitive touch screen,infrared touch screen,surface acoustic wave touch screen and optical touch screen are introduced, the theory and algorithms of total internal reflection are discussed, the platform of experiments is built to realize multipoint touch screen by Wii remote, the experiments of round top infrared led and surface mount led are studied respectively , and the results are investigated and analyzed . The equipments include Wii remote,Blue tooth adapter,round top infrared led,surface mount infrared led and glass.The expriments of this paper are based on the light phenomenon of total internal reflection, and expand around this theory step by step. In the process of experiments, the IR-led is located on the side of glass and the Wii remote is pointed to the center of it, the lights from diode propagate as the total internal reflection inside of glass.When the finger touches on the glass surface, the Wii remote, which has the infrared(IR) camera on the top and embeded bluetooth chip , catches the finger touching points and sends back the signal to laptop via the bluetooth. A software running here used to show the points captured by Wiimote.This paper offers a new way to realize the multipoint touch screen, which has the advantage of accurate tracking four points simultaneously and inexpensive price comparing with the common touch screen technologies, the reseach may have a broad application and exploitation in the future market. |
