Basically, there is a wide field of industrial application for the triangulation sensors. The measurement is no-wear, non-destructive and it is possible to measure a lot of different kinds of surfaces. The application field and the possibilities are very wide. As the fast development of modern industry, laser triangulation sensor is widely used in a lot of areas of industry. The augmented optical distance measurement system by integrated vision capability with rotational symmetrical feature can overcome the inherent shortages of the traditional sensor. So research for the augmented sensor is very important to the future industry.The main works of this thesis are optic design simulation and embedded system software realization.The main work of this thesis includes:(1) Introduce the principle and shortage of laser triangulation. Introduce the optic design principle of two generations of rotationally symmetric triangulation sensor.(2) Introduce the design process of rotationally symmetric triangulation sensor. Design several optic systems and make the simulation to demonstrate.(3) Introduce the signal information system .Configure the DSP/BIOS as the real time operation system and design a device driver for the CMOS sensor and video port under DDK. Then sent the ring images to the PC by the Ethernet port.
