WBSN(Wireless Body Sensor Networks)has a wide and bright application foreground in medical control system and biomedicine field because of its attractive features such as wireless communication, random distribution, convenient information capture, small node volume, low cost, high density and convenience for carrying.In recent years, academic and industry research works mainly focus on network structure topology, network protocol proposing, sensor technology, RF technology and SoC chip design, etc. Emulating the WBSN on a hardware platform is a great method for model validation, network model feasibility analysis, and network protocol exploitation, also the network performance evaluation. Research work on this forward-looking method is valuable and promising. So in this paper, some research work on how to design a hardware testing platform and how to resolve those relative problems are presented.How to design a hardware platform and how to test the capabilities of the Wireless Body Sensor Networks will be discussed in this paper. Research work of this paper mainly focus on following aspects: proposing protocols or improving on existing protocols according to application for a better performance after the WBSN has been constructed. How to carry out the emulation of the node's behavior of the network and effectively emulate the network performance based on this platform. Protocol software implementation, hardware design method, the debug method of constructing hardware platform and testing method of network performance are also presented.Both hardware platform construction and WBSN performance test reach the expected requirements. Network stability and topology are greatly enhanced after the network protocol improved. And software implement is done completely on the platform. The network model with one master node and two slave node runs at a stable condition. Logic validation and power testing of the slave node is conveniently carried out on this platform. The method of hardware platform construction to emulate the WBSN enhances network modeling reliability, shortens network constructing time and improves the testing efficiency. This platform can not only be used for model validation, but also be expanded to an application system. With some improvement and extension work this hardware platform could become an application system. It should have good application prospect.
