The subject is a part of the project of Dalian Electronic Information Products Manufacturing Industry Development Found—"Research, development and industrialization of yacht electronic safety monitoring system"(Project Number: 200749djt). A brand new kind of embedded yacht terminal monitoring system based on GPS technology and the multi-functional MC9S12 MCU has been researched and developed.In this paper, the yacht terminal monitoring system has been divided into six main parts, that is the core data processing and control module, the GPS receiver module, the yacht body inclination angle detection module, the batteries volume monitoring and testing module, the LCD display module and the wireless data communication module. The hardware and software of each module have been designed. For the core data processing and control module, the overall coordination and control function for the entire terminal system has been realized by using the MC9S12 MCU as the core processing chip. For the GPS receiver module, the receipt and calculation of the yacht GPS information have been realized by using the ITrax 300 OEM GPS receiver module. For the yacht body inclination angle detection module, the detection scheme for the yacht body inclination angle signal has been designed by using the MMA7260Q accelerometer. For the batteries volume monitoring and testing module, the real-time sampling for the terminal voltage of the storage battery pack of the yacht during electro-discharging has been realized by using the battery pack monitor. For the LCD display module, the real-time visualized display for the various status information parameters of the yacht and the instructional prompting information received from the monitoring center to the users of the yacht has been realized by using the LCD. For the wireless data communication module, the multiple information exchanges between the terminal system and the coastal monitoring center have been realized by using the wireless data transmission stations. During the design of the communication interface circuits between the core control module and each other module, two simulated serial communication interfaces have been established by using the parallel I/O ports and enhanced capture timer of the MC9S12 MCU and writing software programs. And the serial port expansion for the MCU has been realized. During the design of the software programs of the terminal system, the scheme and software programs for the information exchanges between the terminal system and the coastal monitoring center have been designed at the same time.It has been shown that the collection, display and transmission of the data correlative to the yacht including the parameters correlative to the yacht safety information such as position, speed, batteries volume, abnormal signals, alarm, system operations, etc. and the parameters helpful for management such as sailing time, remote operation instructions, information query, etc. could be realized by the designed yacht terminal monitoring system through on-site tests. With the support and coorperation from the terminal systems, the monitoring system in the coastal monitoring center could monitor the running status of each active yacht in real time. And the various information exchanges between the terminal systems and the monitoring center could be realized. The entire system runs steadily and normally. Not only the safety management of the yachts could be ensured, and also the service management of the yachts could be realized. The integrated level of the management of the yacht entertainment industry could be improved.
