Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB) is the third generation technical broadcast following up AM, FM. China adopts EUREKA-147 as their DAB standard that launched in Europe especially in UK successfully.China built up the DAB laboratory in Beijing and started DAB test broadcast in Guangdong in 1995 in order to evaluate DAB broadcast system. It is the irreversible trend for DAB replaces analog radio broadcast.To receive the DAB program, you need a new DAB receiver. This thesis introduces DAB receiver module Venice7 designed by Frontier silicon Ltd co; and explain how to design a perfect DAB audio product that meets the market and customer requirements. To achieve this, you have to analysis and design system power supply, LCD display IC and audio process IC driver program carefully.Power supply system uses the Torex DC-DC SMPS IC TC9221 and TC9226. You can learn the principle of SMPS and the key points of a good application.LCD display adopts ST7032 chipset and selects SPI interface for communication; it supports 2 line X 16 characters and 51 Icons. Audio process chipset adopts ET2314 and selects IIC interface for communication; it supports four inputs selection and audio effect control. This thesis discusses and analysis the how to develop a customization program based on the SDK.The thesis also introduces Altium AD 6.6 and gives guidelines of PCB layout and placement.The DAB audio radio product based on Venice7 has been test and the sensitivity meets the requirements. It also got the EMC and CE approval and launched to Europe market successfully.
