The year 2009, was the first year of 3G for China, and in this year the world's telecommunications industry has achieved great progress. With the 3G network to become mature, the wireless data service will grow better and better. As one of important 3G telecom service, MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) have become more and more fascinating for customers. As the core equipment for the MMS, the standard of MMSC (Multimedia Messaging Service Center) gradually matures. In this market, relative research attractes many carriers and equipment manufacturer's attention. This paper will focus on design and implementation solution of MMSC, research the device's software and hardware systems, according to market demand, propose solution to make high reliable, high-performance, high scalability MMSC.This article first gives a brief overview to introduce multimedia messaging service and the current state of market and future proof. The paper describes the various service types of MMS and MMSC related technology. The following paragraph analysises of the two implementation way of the MMSC, and the basic function of the MM1. Then studies WAP implementations which has been widely used.By the description of MM1, MM4 and MM7 three basic interfaces which the based on 3GPP and the OMA defined, explains the end-to-end, end-to-application, application-to-end,these three kinds of main message flow.In the system design, first design a model of single-node MMSC which under the market-specifiction. The model divides MMSC into several basic modules:MMS message receiving and processing module, MMS message storage module, SMS gateway interface module, the user database module, HLR interface module, the system management module. And to make the basic functions of these modules come ture,describes single-node system performanceSoftware design under system specification which according to project requirements, design a specific message flow solution. These issues include:MM1 message routing, MM1 to the MM1 message routing, MM1 to MM4 message routing, MM1 to the SMS message routing, Email to the MM1 message routing, Web to the MM1 message routing, etc. And is also concerned about the user database design, PPG messaging network interface, CDR billing problems. Using a simple, flexible, effective way to solve technical problems encountered.In the system's hardware implementation and multi-node MMSC system solution, first research some similar problems on network and computer field, according to MMSC's characteristics, forming the corresponding solution.Load balancing technology is a effective technologies on large-capacity computing, storage area networking technologies are good way to solve large-capacity storage, data security. Combining these two technologies, this paper proposed a set of simple high-expansionary MMSC multi-node design under highly reliable demand.To achieve high reliability, high performance, MMSC systems also need comprehensive validation testing. Finally, the paper gives the system test steps and results, and introduce the evolution of the system's future prospects.
