At present, the mobile communication network is mainly divided into three domains which are circuit-switching (CS) domain, packet switching (PS) domain, and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) domain. These three domains are different in the form of access, core functions, and businesses, etc. Users in different domains can not enjoy the services of other domains. And for the maintenance of core network, since the three have different service ability, they can not share the resources but can only support separate maintenance. As the increase of the user number and the development of the network, the high-cost, low-scalability, no-sharing problems will trouble the network with the client/server (C/S) architecture. The problem will become the bottleneck of the growing network. On the other hand, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and peer-to-peer (P2P) technologies has become one of the most popular topic in Internet and communication industry. SIP has been widely used since it is simple, easy to expand, and easy to achieve, while the P2P technology can alleviate problem of the traditional architecture whose server-side pressure is too large and which is easy to fail by a single point. The combination of these two technologies can address the current difficulties faced by mobile communication network to promote the further development of the network. This article describes a distributed service network (DSN) which is a combination of these two technologies. DSN network is a kind of organization of the next generation mobile communication network. Its core network is organized into P2P network by a number of core network nodes. In DSN, each core network node, on the one hand, works as a core control server, on the other hand, works as a peer node of a P2P network to keep maintenance of the P2P network. In this organization, on the one hand, it makes the core network's functions unified; on the other hand, the use of P2P technology is also a very good solution to the network expansion. This article is a research and implementation on the core node of the DSN. In this paper, an overview of the DSN will be shown first; then, it will discuss the research and implementation of the SIPCC module (core control module) and the P2P module (P2P network maintenance module) which contain two main functions of the corn node; and finally the functional testing will show the DSN network can solve the performance bottlenecks of current centralized network architecture and the DSN can lead the next generation network to a more powerful, higher-performance future.
