Optical burst switching (OBS) combines the advantages of optical circuit switching (OCS) and optical packet switching (OPS) and avoids their weaknesses, with good prospects for development.10G Ethernet at the same time as a new technology makes networks moving toward low-cost, simplified, manageable direction. In this paper, we describe an OBS 10G access programs based on Xenpak optical transceiver modules in the OBS edge node.In the first chapter, the background and development history of OBS are reviewed. The architecture of OBS network is analyzed from two aspects of function and physical topology. Several technologies in OBS network are also discussed.In the second chapter, the design process of core node and edge node in OBS network is introduced. The different functions requirement between core node and edge node is analyzed. The 10G optical access board's overall design scheme is proposed.In chapter three, the hardware design is introduced in detail, including the following parts:S2064 part, FPGA part, transponder part, SDRAM part and other part. The PCB design and signal integrity design on consideration of system stability are presented. The debug methods and diagnose of faults module are shown.In chapter four, the paper is concluded and puts forward improvement methods of route control board.
