OBS proposed currently is a new promising optical switching technology. It combines the advantages of both optical circuit switching(OCS) and optical packet switching(OPS),while avoids their shortages.OBS and OBSR are studied in the paper. N-Token protocol used in OBS ring network is proposed. It can enhance the channel utilization by 58%.AN-Token protocol is proposed to support two different classes of burst data in OBS ring network. In this protocol,real-time traffic can achieve good performance in terms of bandwidth and time delay. All these features are validated by network simulation.A control protocol used in optical burst switching ring with tunable transmitters and fixed receivers called delay fixed period for new burst data(DFPNB) protocol and the architecture of node with DFPNB protocol are proposed.DFPNB protocol can detect conflicts of burst at a transmitter side and causes no conflicts at a receiver side.Since a burst header packet is transmitted ahead of a data burst under JET (Just Enough Time) signaling, transmitting conflicts are detected in advance.By network simulation,we evaluate the performance of throughput,end-to-end delay and mean queue size.As a result,we show the performance effectiveness of our proposed access protocol.
