Based on this background, Shanxi United Telecommunications Corporation actively introduces Soft-switch system based on WCDMA R4 Versions.In this paper, the key technologies, the Network structure and protocol of Soft-Switch System, the Communication market of China Unicom and changes in the competitive environment,the comparison of Soft-Switch System and Traditional Switch System on equipment capacity, power dissipation, service supporting ability, operation cost, Maintenance, and the previous network status of GSM of Shanxi Unicom are analyzed.
