| We already view the rapid development of broadband wireless network and mobile access device in recent year. With the rapid development of wireless technology, wireless network recognized as the most convenient way for various kinds of communication services. Unlike wired environment, wireless environment, connection, available bandwidth in wireless networks are changing dynamically, it is need handoff scheme to provide network coverage continuity and Internet service for mobile user. User will suffer long time handoff latency and packet loss unless there is appropriate handoff scheme. This is unacceptable for the high real-time required service like IPTV and VoD in the future usage.For efficient network communication in mobility management, it is vital for a protocol layer to know or utilize other layers'information. It is, however, hard to realize, since each protocol layer is basically designed independently. The existing research provide some cross-layer handoff solution, however, it contains some limitation views the effect. According to the issues and trends discussed above, implement the following related works in this paper:1. Based on the wired and wireless access technology in FMC integration network, systematic research in IEEE802.16x protocol architecture, discuss the MAC-layer scheduler mechanism in detail. At the same time, discuss the technology background about Ethernet Passive Optical Network.2. Analysis and compare mobility management protocol and scheme used in Next-Generation All-IP network, analysis the Mobile IP solution in network-layer in detail.3. For Link-Layer handoff relative parameter, modeling; in probability density function (PDF). Analysis the relation between moving speed and false handoff probability, relation between signaling delay and false handoff probability.4. It provides a novel cross-layer handoff scheme in this article based on the emerging EPON-WiMAX integration:network. The purpose of cross-layer is to minimize the side effect caused by handoff. The goal of new handoff approach is to minimize the negative effect caused by handoff. Considering the ability of convergence, universal scheduling and dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) of EPON, information gathered in Optical Line Terminal (OLT) can be used to minimize the handoff latency of layer-2, and simultaneity Cross-layer triggers layer-3 to prepare for handoff to realize the total handoff latency minimized.5. In the end of this paper a simulation based on the cross-layer handoff scenario is introduced, and the comparison with the existing handoff protocols showing the performance of the new scheme has been markedly improved. |
