With the increase of user's demand, integrating different kinds of wireless communication technologies to provide seamless mobility with unified wireless access has become the goal of next-generation wireless communication system. When the mobile device changes the access point during the communication session, the handover process will affect the service continuity, and the authentication mechanism is needed to ensure the security of configuration and distribution of resources in this process. Generally, there are a number of signaling interactions between the mobile node and the authentication server, and the delay in these interactions has become a bottleneck that affects the performance of fast handover.This paper analyzed the latest authentication mechanism, proposed a hierarchical authentication architecture, and proposed an EAP Pre-authentication method that has the feature of the EAP Re-authentication, based on the current research results.The proposed authentication system would reduce the authentication differences between the intra-domain handover and the inter-domain handover.In order to achieve the purpose of reducing handoff delay, the authentication strategy proposed in this paper uses a local authentication server to coordinate EAP Re-authentication and EAP Pre-authentication process.This article also focused on solving the difficult problems in this system. On the one hand, this paper proposed an optimization method to determine the key life cycle based on the machine learning theories and experimental methods, the simulation experiment in this paper analyzed the automatic adjustment process of the key life cycle under a variety of situations, and this optimization method of key life cycle enhanced the system performance.On the other hand, this paper used association rules algorithm and predictive analysis means to determine the movement trajectory of mobile nodes, which will dynamically reduce the number of authentication candidates in the initialization phase of pre-authentication, thereby it not only reduced the signaling overhead in the initialization phase of the pre-authentication but also reduced the power consumption of mobile devices.Finally, this paper focused on the network management problems in the authentication system, and designed a new prototype system based on the new network management protocol.
