Knowledge Engineering is a knowledge of thinking as the research object of a discipline, it will isolate all the specific Intelligence Research System of some basic common issues as the main core of knowledge engineering, making it the guiding other specific development of new intelligent system The general methods and basic tools. It is in the field of expert knowledge based on practical work involving the scope of purposeful abstraction that is able to clearly express the wish to express particular aspects.Knowledge Engineering in mechanical engineering in the application of case, a large proportion of the re-use of previous knowledge, so that technical experts in specialized fields of experience to be adequately disseminated, and thus make mechanical manufacturing process design is no longer totally dependent on personal experience.Under the guidance of the thinking of KBE, we take the box of turbine reducer-a classical box for example to do the CAPP research. This paper is mainly about:1.Analyze the present condition about mechanical engineering at home and abroad and the tendency of its development. And according to that analysis, we investigate both the importance of combining CAPP and knowledge engineering thinking and the way to bring it into practice.2.We give a detailed introduction to the knowledge engineering thinking and the technology related to CAPP. We also introduce the software-CAXA CAPP systematically.3.Bring the idea of KBE especially the idea of knowledge reusing into the designing when we use CAXA CAPP.Taking the design of box of turbine reducer for example, we investigate the method to realize the modularization and standardization of the design of process card.The CAPP research, based on knowledge, realizes the modularization and standardization of the design of process card; it can also improve the efficiency of process design, shorten developing periods and enhance the stability of the system. This can lighten the burden of the designer of mould and strengthen the competitiveness of enterprises.So it is very practical.
