With the progress of urbanization, the amount of septic tanks is increasing, and the location of septic tanks is separated, and they are difficult to be controled. The explosion of septic tanks in Chongqing has been a serious public safety risks.To the needs of Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Work Safety Supervision for real-time monitoring system of the city, the paper propose a zigbee based underground telemonitoring and warning system. The system which usees wireless sensor technology as the front-end data collection and applies 3G mobile communication as network technology, implements wireless transmission of data, which has some practical significance to solve the current predicament.The paper analyzees the IEEE 802.15.4 standard and Zigbee network technology, and then proposees the overall system design.The data collected by the node be sent to the coordinator. Then the data processed by the ARM microprocessor is sent to the remote monitoring center through the 3G mobile network.Focus on the overall design of the system, the process of wireless sensor nodes and gateway's design are detailed. In the hardware design of wireless sensor nodes, sensor module, power module and the CC2430 module are integrated, and in the software design of wireless sensor nodes the function of the node joining the network and the data transceiverin is realized on the basis of a user-defined frame format.In the design of the system gateway, the paper describes the circuit design process of the module including the power module, memory module, serial module,and JTAG interface module. According to the functions which is needed to be implemented, the software design of the system gateway include: porting the embeddedμC / OSⅡkernel to the ARM processor, completing the task design of theμC / OSⅡsystem, and realizing EM700 module communication.Finally, throught experiment, system can accomplish the front-end data collection and the back-end data transmission,which prove the feasibility of this design method. The methed for septic tanks and other equipment's remote monitoring provides a reliable solution,whicht has broad application prospects.
