With the extensive use of surface mount components, the volume of electronic products become smaller and smaller, the welding quality directly affects the stability of the product, the current electronic components welding quality inspection work (especially the small electronics-company) most of the artificial visual completion of subjective factors prone to missed and false detection, detection of high cost and low efficiency. A large number of patches and fine alignment device used to weld volume inspection of electronic components into a very difficult task, difficult to automate the traditional manual visual method has been unable to meet production needs.Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI), developed to solve this problem, it is convenient, rapid, reproducible, etc, can reduce product costs, improve product quality, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of products in the market. The basic principle of the system is the digital camera or scanner to obtain images of solder joints, and then after the image preprocessing, image processing, pattern recognition and other steps to automate the detection of solder joint quality and timely feedback, according to feedback information on the production line relevant process parameters to be adjusted.AOI system for the early use in the U.S. and Japan are more relevant in recent years only in the domestic field, especially in the joint venture (such as Foxconn) used the more. AOI equipment manufacturers and more for the United States or Japan, technologically advanced but expensive; domestic AOI equipment manufacturing and development has only just begun, the existing AOI system also has some disadvantages are there a higher false positive rate, but also hidden solder joints existing AOI system can not do anything, should further improve the detection algorithm, to improve solder joint quality inspection ability.In this paper, the solder joints of electronic components images, using image processing algorithms and pattern recognition methods on the quality of some major defects in solder joints were tested. MATLAB language with a set of electronic components designed welding quality inspection system, which has image acquisition, image processing, control platforms, modules, image processing module also includes preprocessing, image processing and pattern recognition module. Development is completed, the students practice making the radio circuit boards were tested to see from the results achieved the desired results, to improve the detection efficiency, saving test time and reduce test cost.
