There are restrict temporal relationships between the object like audio, video and others in multimedia data. Multimedia timing control is based on the temporal relationships. Because of the complexity of distribute network environment, which make the sync issue of multimedia more complicate, the temporal relationships probably be broken after transmission. The key point is how to ensure the multimedia synchronization in error cases. It is necessary to have a multimedia timing control mechanism in client to solve these problems and meet the practical needs.The article begins with the background of the task, have researched on domains of digital broadcast TV and stream media and also on the system coding mechanism, especially on the time stamps and de-multiplicity process. After that, a research and application of multimedia timing control mechanism is briefly introduced. This timing control algorithm is designed by comparing the time stamp of multimedia frame recently flipped and adjusting the playing time of last frame. Timing control model is analyzed in detail. The experimental environment is set up and the experimental results and analysis are emphasized. Through the result of experiments, we can see the importance and good effects of this multimedia timing control mechanism.
