With the development of computer and communication technology, the more people who need to network, at the same time,the higher that Services provided by the network.. One of the important tasks by modern management of network devices is that fault incidence of network equipment and improve operation and maintenance of network equipment, MAN equipment is sured of the normal operation.There are core layer,convergence layer and core layer,in the three-layer architecture of MAN, responsible of access layer is a necessary accessing with broadband users,it is an important part of connection of Business Network to user in telecommunications networks, and completed the main task with making user to transparent from access layer to core layer by it. At present,in equipment operation of Harbin's MAN access layer,there were no unified monitoring and management system ,because of different equipment by manufacturers. They can only monitor their own equipment.Alarm was not supported broadcast by some equipment,and equipment failure was sured by setting people to inspection,moreover, detailed basis for fault query later can not provided by them.This situation was disadvantage to the fault analysis of equipment,and optimization of network could not be doing in time too.The system that fault management of DSLAM equipment in MAN access layer was designed,in order to solving pronlems in management of network and actual needs of production. The system was design and based on the needs of the design of fault management equipment maintenance center in Harbin Netcom Internet data team. Application platform is designed in one of three fault management system.this management system were made of three platform.they were Windows Application client,Web Monitor client and Web query client. Windows Application client were made of five subprogram:database management,query,information input,statistics and reports. principles of data collection based on SNMP protocol and Ping polling based on ICMP protocol were analysed. Fault diagnosis model based on decision tree algorithm was seted up. Real-time monitoring,the management of alarm forecast and alarm query were completed.The three program were open up whith VB.NET and SQL Server 2005.Unit testing and production testing were carry out.After softtware function was consummate and The availability of specific software,this system was put into using.This software that was designed in this paper for Internet access layer device management had a better application,with following devolopment,this software Had a broad use of future.
