With the development of aerospace business in our country, the research on satellite platform fault diagnosis is increasingly mature. However, the research on payload fault diagnosis hasn't covered yet. The payload takes on the mission of ground observation, aerospace science and technology experimentation, and interacts with spacecraft data management system and monitoring system, etc. Therefore, the payload needs fault diagnosis ability to deal with unexpected incidents, in order to improve the quality of missions and ensure the high reliability of satellite. Traditional fault diagnosis depends on expert experience to analyze telemeter data, deduce the fault reason and estimate fault trend. With the increment of payload types and amount, the high reliability of payload operation becomes more and more important. This paper has systematically researched on the main technology of fault diagnosis in aerospace firstly, combining with features of payload diagnosis to complete following work: 1) In order to realize hierarchical diagnosis and formal expression, this paper has constructed diagnosis knowledge base, based on XML storage mode; 2) Through the research on the form of payload fault, this paper has designed the fault tree knowledge expression structure. The application of Minimal Cut Set has improved the diagnosis efficiency.3) This paper has used D-S evidence reasoning algorithm to solve lacking of telemeter data in diagnosis process.4) According to research result, this paper has constructed the payload diagnosis prototype base on fault tree, certificated the algorithm and storage mode. Through the experimentation, the result of this paper has got initially validate. The research and realization of this issue have accumulated experience for the research and development of payload fault diagnosis system.
