Session Initiation Protocol SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is an application layer control protocol proposed by the IETF and hosted a research network on the IP multimedia communications. It is used to create, modify, and end one or more session process between participants. Session Initiation Protocol SIP fundamentally changed the traditional circuit- switched voice telephone communications.In the development of today's network transmission technology, GPON network technology as a hot technology is constantly improving and becoming more and more mature. GPON network technology is a new generation of integrated broadband passive optical access technology. There are not only high bandwidth, effectives, large coverage and rich user interfaces for GPON, but also can carry more sophisticated data. GPON network technology can solve the VOIP network transmission in the previous problems, such as bandwidth, can not guarantee high delay, jitter, large and so on. Meanwhile, in the GPON network, dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) methods, namely, bandwidth on demand combined with a fixed allocation for this type of business can prioritize VOIP transmission, with a higher QoS priority, greatly increased the VOIP voice calls quality. SIP, as a control signaling of VOIP, using the architecture of C/S, which based on point to point communication between the two sides call, while the GPON technology is also based on point to provide access. Among the users, the communication is also based on point to point, the itegration between the two are well. Therefore, the SIP technology into the GPON network is a very good solution.This paper focus on VOIP network transmission problems, proposeing a SIP protocol applications based on GPON network technology, constructing the network topology, realizing the integration of SIP and GPON, describing the implementation process and the main call flow of the system, comparing several cases of voice call quality through testing the system and analysising the test results of the four cases in the end. Compared with the traditional PSTN phone, the proposed technique in the paper has more advantages.
