Study On The Blockboard Nondestructive Testing By X-Ray

This paper proposes a scheme for nondestructive detection of Blockboard with X-ray nondestructive testing method, according to Blockboard structural characteristics and defects of existing detection method. The board core in internal Blockboard, mainly to provide a certain thickness and strength Blockboard, is over 60% of the total volume and plays an important role to Blockboard quality. In the premise without damaging the surface and physical structure of Blockboard, the nondestructive detection of Blockboard with X-ray is convenient and effective practical application for Blockboard quality supervision and some other fields.Based on studying industrial X-ray detection and structural features of Blockboard, the paper derives X-ray Imaging law of Blockboard. In order to better detect Blockboard, the track of mechanical transmission is designed and made under considering experimental testing requirements and security needs combined with the external shape of Blockboard. Then to make transmission to the pre-selected Blockboard with X-ray, get the image in the imaging plate. In order to enhance the contrast of gray and filter the noise in the image and make the image more clear and easy to identify, the collected images are processed with the conventional histogram equalization, histogram matching (specification) and spatial filtering, which is convenient to further analysis and research on Blockboard. Combined with MATLAB software image processing functions to process X-ray images of Blockboard, Using the traditional differential algorithm for edge detection:Sobe operator, Roberts operator, Prewitt operator, Log operator and Canny operator; the basic principles of mathematical morphology, dilation, erosion, opening and closing as well as the gradient method based on this principle are applied. The processed image is clearly more suitable for observation of the human eye.The experimental results show the X-ray non-destructive testing for Blockboard is feasible, and as far as practical workers, this method is with advantages of easy operation, intuitive results and simple principle, and so on.
