The detection method for daily-used ceramics remains in manual level, which leads to several drawbacks, i.e. low efficiency, high labor intensity and so on. Meanwhile, long-time human detection may leads to high fallout and rate. In addition, since the high cost for automatic detection equipment for other fields and the various shape of the ceramics, the automatic detection equipment for daily-used ceramics is seldom. Therefore, it is necessary to design a stable and efficient daily-used ceramics intelligent detection system, particularly nondestructive detection system.In this paper, several works are done as follows.(1) An online automatic detection system scheme contains ceramic production line and a intelligent control system. A hardware simulation platform to imitate ceramic production lines is firstly built. In the conveyer belt, the ceramic is placed at an appropriate position. then the limit switch is touched and a logical signal is sent, then the CCD camera will be triggered to acquire the image data. Moreover, the image data will be transmitted to the computer and the detection result will be obtained through the intelligent detection algorithm.(2) A stably and ceramics defect intelligent detection algorithm including roundness, indentation, ceramic pattern out-of-range and flaw defects detection process is designed.
