The paper will be based on the research about the history of communication of visual culture and hearing culture, and then go into the issues, which display the relation between communication of visual culture and that of hearing culture. Recur to the disproportionate matter about the proportion of sounds and pictures in one TV program, then category and illustrate the specific cases, find the social cause and theoretical support.I will analysis from three ways:first of all, I will systemize their history, and come up with the opinion that communication of hearing culture is earlier than and always inside that of visual culture. Reviving the academic discussion in the air in 1990s, I find that the development of the communication of visual culture was upward, but the development of communication of visual culture reversed. The communication of visual culture was looked down on, and the editors could not product the advantaged programs. So I propose my first view that it is important to focus on the communication of hearing culture.In the next place, I will category the main TV programs to three types:news, talk show, and entertainment programs. First, I will do the research about the news. By using the example one, I want to convey the opinion that the words could express the meaning clearly, but the pictures could not. And the news must depend on the words to state purport. By using the second example, I want to restate the affect which the words produced is more important than what the pictures produced, and further discuss the relationship between them. Then, I will analyze the audiovisual relation on the talk show and entertainment programs respectively in a nutshell. All above indirect that the phenomenon have been already excised that the TV programs all value the sound, especially the dialectal news appeal. Because of its advantages in audibility, the local people prefer watching the dialectal news to watching the mandarin news. And the importance of the communication of visual culture is affirmed again.In the third part, I will do the analysis on phenomenon above from two sides. From academic side, the TV programs are the flows, which have the properties of the sound. And the voice is the approach though which all we see and what we want to express could link together. In these ways, the sound assumes the most important responsibility. From the social side, First, Chinese culture property and aesthetic tradition also determine the direction of the hearing-led. Second, the Chinese organization of TV has its own party property which decides the direction of TV edition that are hearing-led. At last, in the forth part, I summarize the viewpoints, and appeal to face up to the phenomenon that the sound in TV programs needs to be appreciated.
