With the rapid growth of the number of vehicles, the frequent occurrence of traffic jams, our urban transport is facing great pressure. In this situation, developing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) including intelligent navigation system is one of ways to solve this problem. Existing navigation systems are static navigation systems that mainly based on the optimal path method, which haven't combined with real-time traffic information, when traffic congestion occurrence, it doesn't the most efficient path, also can not alleviate the pressure on traffic congestion. With the development of mobile communications, vehicles is no longer an isolated information island, it is possible to obtain real-time traffic information. If we can make use of the real-time traffic information, realize dynamic traffic navigation for vehicle, it is not only can improve navigation effect for individual vehicles, but also maximum use of existing roads and resources to ease congestion and improve the efficiency of urban transport systems.In this paper, a system can distribute and receive real-time traffic information, traffic information can be dynamically displayed in the map, make the vehicle traffic navigation dynamic. This system is based on S3C2410 processor, using embedded Linux operation system as soft platform. Vehicle terminal connected to the Internet using 3G module, browse the web pages through embedded browser. First, we developed a real-time traffic information input platform using MFC on the Web server, the appropriate XML file automatically generate according to the administrator input traffic information. Html web page was written by JavaScript language, and Google Maps was embedded in this web page. The real-time traffic information was marked in the form of icon in the corresponding location on the map after parsing XML file. 3G module will be configured correctly under Linux environment, then the vehicle navigation terminal connected to the Internet, browse the Html web page, and finally display map information on the terminal screen. In addition, aim at the handwriting problems in Embedded system, we optimized the Chinese character handwriting recognition system, improved the recognition rate and recognition speed, finally applied it to the vehicle navigation terminal.The system designed in this paper can distribute, transmit and receive real-time traffic information, dynamically navigation. The system through experiments and achieved good results.
