This paper proposes a new method on remote data collection system which embeds the handwritten Chinese character input in the terminal product and handwritten Chinese character recognition software in the server on the other side of the internet.The Chinese characters are input via the touchpad and converted into digital data signals. The data is collected and compressed by the single chip computer system and transferred to the server of the data process center via internet.In the server, a handwritten Chinese character recognition algorithm using Chinese character feature extraction method is proposed. In order to recognize the handwritten Chinese character, a new model database of the Chinese character is setup. When testing with a small Chinese character database, the result meets the requirement.
