With the development of social productive forces and the advances of science and technology, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification, RFID) technology has been widely applied in recent years for its significant advantages. In order to make use of RFID systems better and faster to adapt to more applications, it is necessary for us to improve and optimize the existing RFID middleware. This article mainly for the optimization and improvement of RFID middleware communication mechanism. In this paper, the work includes:(1) Research the Java-based distributed system—Jini. And then describes the overall structure of the RFID middleware platform based on Jini's design. Making use of RMI communication to achieve the automatic recognition of RFID device (virtual device) in the Jini environment , the automatic configuration and management of RFID middleware as well as the "Plug and Play" of RFID devices.At the same time, the management of RFID middleware in the Jini environment is further optimized, making the configuration and management of RFID middleware based on EPCglobal standards more efficiently in a distributed environment.(2) Research the RFID middleware communication module based on the EPCglobal standard. Put forward the solutions of the problems when data transmission is happen. Achieve the changes of RFID middleware communication module. Ensure the reliability of communication basically.(3) Research the SSH security protocols. Achieve the key exchange algorithm (diffie-hellman), authentication algorithms (asymmetric encryption), data encryption and decryption algorithms (blowfish and tripple), integrity of the authentication algorithm (SHA and MD5) and compression decompression algorithm (deflate).The realization of communication security in RFID middleware communication module is implemented.(4) Through the three test cases ,the reliability and security of improved RFID middleware communication module were verified, and the "plug and play" of the RFID middleware is verified in the Jini platform.This paper provides a reference for the development of RFID middleware .
