Research And Development For RFID Middleware Security Solution

RFID technology is widely applied in more areas and people pay more attention on RFID security problems. There are many problems about RFID security. Firstly, tag has some weakness. Secondly the communication between reader and tag is frangible. Meanwhile the channel between system and database has security thread. It also requires RFID products to control their cost. New applications on mobile devices and distributed systems bring a lot of challenges to RFID security.This paper focus on developing an RFID middleware, which provides industry oriented security solution, in order to make the integration of RFID more convenient and efficient. We develop a RFID security tool box, especially research on security architecture language,security assessment and security protocol. Security architecture language bases on XML language, which concludes security component and security connector. Security architecture language can provide a vivid describe for user and component library. Security assessment uses multifactor weight method and makes RFID middleware more automotive and intelligent. Security protocol is based on the analysis of many security protocols, and is fit for RFID middleware.Now, the industry oriented RFID middleware is used in the laboratory of Shanghai Jiao tong University. The research would advance the study and application of integration of RFID technology in providing security solution.
