Image quality assessment is a classical research topic. It aims at an evaluation consistent to human's subject.In many image processing applications, the image quality are of great importance. Therefore, the quality of image has a great deal of influence on camera's performance. When the images captured by the cameras are used as important application of security and remote monitoring applications to protect lives and property, the image quality is very important. This dissertation is based on the background above.This image acquisition system uses two ways to capture images, which are analog acquisition and digital acquisition, and improved key steps of image acquiring the image data storage. The image assessment is based on no reference image. According to the trait of image noise, we treat the mean of continuous multiple images as original image--Evaluation Criteria. There are two assessment standards, which are PSNR and color noise. The function of the system includes image acquiring, image segmentation, image data extraction and validation, PSNR calculation, calculation of color noise. The main work and innovation in the dissertation are as follows:1. It analyzes the working principle of CCD, including physical basement and basic principles, noise analysis.2. It makes a clear description of self made camera(sony-11X video project) and calibrate the camera's auto gain control and auto white balance.3. It has a detail of the main hardwares of the image acquiring system, and establishes a hardware platform for this dissertation, including lighting box, self-made camera (SONY-11X video programs), computer, MINI2440 ARM development board etc.4. It designs a image acquisition software including analog acquisition acquiring PAL pattern full TV signal and memorizing in BMP format and 10 bits data format, and digital acquisition acquiring ITU656/601 format digital video signal, memorizing in 8 bits data format.5. According to collected images feature, it designs image data extraction software and validate whether the extraction of 10-bit image data is correct or not.6.
