With the development of Internet, the traditional multimedia has been gradually difficult to meet the growing demand of users. Thus, a new media with rich interactivity called rich media emerges. It brings a revolutionary change for the traditional Internet advertising. Meanwhile, with the launching of mobile multimedia services, rich media will have wide applications on mobile platform.This thesis introduces the basic structure of rich media system, as well as the related technology. After the analysis and comparison of several popular open standards associated with rich media, we design our system following LASeR, which is an end-to-end Rich Media system standard. By using an open-source multimedia framework software named GPAC, and based on LASeR, our rich media system includes client and server modules. Client module includes media stream rearrangement and analysis, the playback and synchronization of scene files and a variety of audio and video, along with the script event processing. Server module includes business processing module, scene analysis and sending module, media sending module and so on. We also achieve the segmentation of SVG documents into LASeR commands in accordance with time. Based on this system we design and implement a television voting application. Finally, using a streaming media server we verify the correctness of this end-to-end system, and the TV voting services can run well on the system.
