Power line communicaion (PLC) is a kind of cummunication techonology which utilize low distribution network as the transmission media to transmit data, voice, image and other integrated service. It not only can be the effective method to solve the bottleneck of broadband access, but also can be the digital high-speed data transmission platform for the the power load monitoring, remote meter reading, electric automation, demand-side management, enterprise networks, and smart home communities.PLC technology allows users to utilize the existing power supply network to communicate. Now it can achieve broadband communication. This paper studies the PLC in the embedded field of application, designed a PLC-based embedded home gateway, this device is part of power-line broadband access a network module. At the same time, in order to solve the co-existence impact of electromagnetic compatibility between PLC system and covers all types of radio services, an improved power line communication system model is put forward, this model will be of great significance for the networking of the embedded home gateway access. This article finally study how the embedded operating system ported to the embedded gateway PLC target platform, thus forming a complete framework for embedded gateway.
