As the development of the wireless communication technology, the wireless sensor network technology will be applied to more and more fields; in the future, the ECG acquisition is important, by which the wireless sensor network is used for our body. As an aging society is coming, the wireless sensor network technology will be widely used for the care of the patient and the elderly in the community. By the ECG data, doctors can analyze the monitoring object's condition and status, so real-time ECG acquisition is to achieve the application. Some special requirements are requested in this application environment for the wireless sensor network technology. The type of the wireless sensor networks should have a great rate of data transmission, a fast response cycle, a small size of the node, and a good stability of the network.2008, our laboratory and the Shenzhen Biocare Electronics Co., Ltd., start a joint research project: Wireless ECG Machine. On this basis, the subject of this study was raised.In this paper, the theory of the wireless sensor networks is studied deep. then, the characteristics of various wireless short-range communication protocols are compared. The Zigbee network protocols are focused on, and the application of the protocol stack is analyzed. The hardware terminal node based on the technology which uses TI's CC2430 / CC2431 RF chip is designed.In this paper, by comparison and analysising of the Holter ECG system, and ECG acquisition circuits and the ECG data analysis techniques at home and abroad, and in order to meet the characteristics of the weak ECG signal. The ECG amplification and filtering circuits are designed. The circuits can make the ECG signal 1000 times larger, which the filtering range is 0.3~130Hz, and can meet the ECG collection in the wireless sensor network environment.Finally, in the paper, the wireless sensor network based on Zigbee technology and the ECG acquisition circuits are combined together, and a small wireless network for the ECG acquisition is designed. The hardware design and software design are included mainly. The hardware components include the circuit design of monitoring nodes and the embedded processing platform; the software components mainly include the software design of nodes and embedded processing platform, and compilation and debugging the program, and the implementation and testing of the positioning and tracking algorithm based on RSSI. Finally, the results are analyzed, the results are proved: the wireless sensor network based on Zigbee technology can be applied to ECG acquisition. The network, which are low-cost, and a short development cycle, and reliable and timely to meet the collection and transmission of data, and achieve the requirements of the design.
